Untitled
It was late when we talked
and too drunk to be of use
to either one of us.
Oddly you said, and ugly,
stumbling mumbled and lost,
and when I smiled you tilted
sideways and moved your mouth along.
I never did see your teeth.
I heard a little and only little more
but I remember
when you said and I remember
that there is now,
and still, there is now.
